Onsrud Cutter Manufacturing Group and its subsidiaries were sold to an employee investment group.
The company was renamed Onsrud Cutter, Inc. (OCI). Annual sales in 1979 were $6.5 million.
Onsrud Cutter introduced a line of tooling specifically designed to cut plastics. From a modest
start of 48 SKUs in 1983, this plastics line has developed into a complete catalog of 650 tools for
plastic machining and now accounts for 31% of Onsrud Cutter’s total volume.
Onsrud Cutter Inc. celebrates 50 successful years in Libertyville, Illinois
June 2, 1996 was proclaimed as Onsrud Cutter Day by the County Board of Lake County
in recognition of 50 years of service to the community.
